Team HANNspree Stiggy Motorsport Honda news
2008 Supersport World Championship
Preview: Round 9, Brands Hatch, UK, 1-3 August
HANNspree Stiggy Motorsport Honda rider Joshua Brookes moved into second place in the championship after collecting another superb podium in Brno last weekend.
His team mate Robbin Harms was the Supersport entertainer giving the crowd a more than a "value for the money" experience, as he put in an extremely exciting race performance. Unfortunately, on the very last lap, Robbin had to retire whilst in contention for a podium place. He had started from 14th place on the grid and had fought his way up to take the lead, from eventual race winner Jonathan Rea, but was forced to leave the Czech Republic with a DNF due to a fuel starvation problem on the very last lap.
The team is now heading to the spectacular Brands Hatch for the ninth round of the Supersport Championship this coming weekend.

Im very happy to be second in the championship with five rounds remaining. Hopefully this will give me enough time to close in on Andrew (Pitt) who is leading with 32 points. The points I managed to collect in last round were great, but I wasn't completely satisfied with my race performance. Scoring as many points as possible in every round is the most important thing for us and that's what I want to carry on doing.
This week, I came back from Japan and the 8-hour Suzuka race -wow! That was one of my hardest ever races. It was very hot and humid, but we managed to do well, so that was good. Brands Hatch will be fun. I like the track and I'm ready to score as many points as I can.

Last weekend was a disaster - results wise. But, up until I had to stop on the final lap, I managed a great race with a bike that felt the best ever for a long time. Of course I was sad and disappointed not to finish the race when I was so close to victory but knowing that I'm back on the pace with a great bike is very comforting and promising for the races ahead. Brands Hatch is a track I really like, not only because of the spectacular layout and the enthusiastic crowd, but also because it suits my riding style. Last year I finished the race in fourth place, so hopefully this weekend I'll manage to reach the podium and get my revenge on Brno.

Last race weekend was difficult for us. Robbin retiring from the race after such a great performance made it very difficult to be happy about Joshua's third place. It was a real anticlimax for all of us. But, Josh is now second in the championship and that makes the next races very exciting. We have to make sure that he is able to bring home a big harvest every round. Brands Hatch is always an exciting place. It is a fantastic track with a great atmosphere and it will be interesting to see what this weekend has to offer.
