JOSHUA BROOKES BRINGS HOME SUPERB FIRST VICTORY FOR THE TEAM!
HANNspree Stiggy Motorsport Honda rider Joshua Brookes rode one of the best races of his life in the 10th round of the World Supersport Championship at Donington and gave the team its first ever win since it entered the series in 2005. The team have been working very hard for this day and finally were able to reap the reward for all their efforts.
Joshua’s victory today came after difficult weekend of uncertain weather conditions. Today´s race was dry - a big challenge for Joshua as he last time he rode at the British track in the dry was on a Superbike last year. The victory moves Joshua into second place in the championship, with just three rounds remaining.
Team mate Robbin Harms started from 12th place on the grid and battled throughout the 22-lapper to take sixth.
Joshua - 1st
Today was great. I had a great bike to race with and rode my best to finish on the top. I got a good start and felt really comfortable. The guys in front were not as fast as I was expecting, so I was a bit surprised. I put my head down and felt really secure that I could fight with the leaders. I had a few "moments" but I got comfortable again, focused on riding perfect laps and before I knew it, I was right behind the leader Pitt. I stayed just behind and two laps before the finish I overtook him and brought home the victory. I'm really happy, especially since we didn't have any dry practice this weekend and I'm really thankful that we found such a good dry race set-up. I want to thank the team for all their hard work and for giving me the right tools to win today. I would also like to dedicate this win to the memory of Craig Jones.
Robbin - 6th
My start was OK, but I had two big high-sides on the first lap, including one that was so severe that I hit my head on the screen and broke it! I was really lucky not to crash, but I lost a few positions and also my confidence and rhythm. I was afraid something was wrong with the bike and so I backed off a bit. Then I started to get back on the pace and rode consistent lap times. I finally finished in sixth place, but I'm not really happy about that. Although I’m happy for the team and their first place today, I'm disappointed it wasn't me who brought home their first victory. So now I need to start focusing on the next race and going all out for a good result.

It was hard knowing what set-up we needed for the race today as it was dry and we didn't have any practice in the dry this weekend. But somehow we managed to find a good set-up for both riders. I'm really impressed with Josh and how he managed to bring home the victory. He rode extremely well in difficult conditions. The first victory is very special and it's hard to say how special this feeling is.
Robbin started from 12th place and managed to finish 6th. I'm satisfied with his performance this weekend and he too put in a great race. The team worked very hard this weekend to bring home the results we were hoping for. We have worked hard for many years for this day and therefore it means a lot to us. The team would like to dedicate our win today to Craig Jones: this is for you!
