Both Stiggy riders on the second row at Magny-Cours

The second day at Magny-Cours started off wet in the morning free practice because of yesterdays heavy rain showers, but luckily the afternoon final qualifying session took place with a dry track. In the improved weather and track conditions, HANNspree Stiggy Motorsport Honda riders managed to cut their laptimes from yesterday and so grabbed better qualifying places. Robbin Harms finished seventh, just in front of team mate Joshua. Both Stiggy riders will start tomorrow's penultimate round of this year's Supersport World Championship from the second row.

Robbin - 7th, 1.42.926
I'm really happy with my qualifying today! Seventh place is great for me, as I normally don’t qualify very high up. We managed to get the bike working well in qualifying and that allowed me to put in a quick lap. However, we are still struggling a bit with the grip as well as finding the "perfect" race set-up. That's something we will have to work on in the warm-up tomorrow.

Joshua - 8th, 1.42.976
I experienced some gearing problems in qualifying and I'm also still a bit uncomfortable with the front. There are some quite big bumps on the track and going over them makes the bike unstable and bounce around. I used both my bikes in the session and tried different settings and tyres. We have good feeling what we must do for tomorrow to fix the problems for the race.

We were lucky with the weather staying dry today for qualifying. Robbin managed to put in a quick lap and will start from seventh place tomorrow, with Joshua right behind in eighth. Having both riders starting on the second row tomorrow will be great. I'm sure it will be a hard fought race, not just between those two, but also as the championship is reaching a climax.
